Uniquely made, especially loved by God
Dr. Olawale
It’s so easy for any of us to be distracted! When we see the great things the Lord is doing for and through others, we tend to think that we are less important or less loved by the Lord. Such thoughts can lead to comparing ourselves with others, discontentment, envy, ingratitude, and failing to put our best effort into our own assignments. If you fall into this line of thinking and the lie of the devil, you will miss the unique and glorious assignments and plans God has specially prepared for you.
Knowing that you are unique and that God has a unique and glorious plan for you is important. Biometrics show that, despite the over seven billion people on Earth, each fingerprint and eye is unique. David said in Psalm 139:13-16,
“13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” - Psalm 139:13-16
Your identity, that is, knowing who you are based on your Creator, is key to living a contented and impactful life! Not only are you unique, but the Spirit of God says from Psalm 139:14 that you are a wonderful work of God! Not only that, your Creator is so crazily in love with you that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, the righteous, to die for you, the unrighteous. Think about that and see how precious and special you are to God, the Almighty! You need to walk in life with your head lifted high in confidence and assurance because of Him who loves you! No one and nothing can separate you from God’s love. He demonstrated the sincerity of His love for you by giving you His all and His very best, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die and redeem you.
“32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[j]
37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[k] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:32-39)
With this uniqueness, God, your loving Creator, made unique plans for your life. Your glory, fulfillment, and impact in life rest on you discovering that individually and divinely devised plans, walking in, and staying in them! In the Book of Jeremiah 29, God says:
“11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13
God’s plans for your life are with Him. If you seek Him, you will find Him and discover His plans for your life as promised in Jeremiah 29:11-13. Our Lord Jesus said to Peter when he wanted to be distracted in John 21:19-22,
“19 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, “Follow me!” 20 Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is going to betray you?”) 21 When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” 22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.” - John 21:19-22
So, guard against sins and distractions! Run the race marked for you by fixing your eyes on Jesus and following Him wholeheartedly! You are uniquely made, especially loved, with glorious assignments and destiny!
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2.
